If you're a new patient, you'll need to give me some information about your background, medical history and the nature of your condition. This is so that I can provide the best possible care, tailored to your specific circumstances.
We'll have some brief paperwork for you to fill in on your first visit. This paperwork provides us with general information about you and your condition. Please bring your glasses if you need them to fill out my medical history form.
During your first consultation with Dr Roberts, you'll discuss any health-related issues and concerns. You'll also learn about potential treatment options.
In order to pinpoint your problem, Dr Roberts will ask you a number of questions related to your condition. A variety of targeted tests will be performed to determine which tissues are affected and to what extent. In order for a physical examination to be completed please wear loose clothing, leggings, shorts or tracksuit bottoms are ideal. Alternatively a gown will be provided.
Your specific condition may require us to take X-rays either to rule out more serious conditions or to assist us in assessing the most effective treatment plan for you. If this is the case then you will be referred for an X-Ray, M.R.I or Ultrasound.
Once the examination is complete, patients will generally have their first treatment during this same visit. This may include spinal adjustments and physical therapy.
Before leaving, you'll be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be carried out at home. This may include ice or heat applications, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises.
